Scripture: The wages of a hired man are not to remain with you all night until morning (Leviticus 19:13).
Today’s Thought: Every business has a moral responsibility to ensure that all wages are paid promptly and that includes making payroll tax withholding payments to the government.
If your business is short of cash, do everything you can to make your payroll (and tax) payments on time. Payroll delays can be catastrophic. Employee morale and confidence will plummet, and you may lose some of your best people to other companies, Also, if you fail to make timely payments to the IRS, the interest and penalties will mount quickly on the unpaid taxes, further crippling your business. Once you get behind, it’s even harder to catch up.
Develop a plan to accumulate cash reserves in order to ease the crunch when business is slow. Establish a payment plan with payroll as your number one priority. Pay all wages promptly to preserve your greatest asset your employees.
I walk in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice, to endow those who love me with wealth (Proverbs 8:20-21).
Establish a payment plan with payroll as your number one priority.
