Scripture: I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, entreat you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called (Ephesians 4:1).
Today’s Thought: A common complaint among workers is that they aren’t being paid what they’re worth. But have you ever done a cost/benefit analysis on yourself and your work?
First, calculate the cost of your time to your employer or business, including benefits and other perks. We often forget the cost of benefits, which often run 40 percent or more of salary. Then figure the
value of the work you produce. Does your worth exceed your cost? The best way to gain
and maintain job security is to be worth more than you’re paid, because a business can’t
afford to keep someone who is paid more than he or she is worth.
Treat each day and hour at your job as a valuable commodity and make the most of it, because time is money. Make every day count in your business and you will enjoy maximum job security, success, and satisfaction.
The wages of the righteous is life, the income of the wicked, punishment (Proverbs 10:16).
The best way to gain job security is to be worth more than you’re paid.
