Scripture: And God saw all that He had made, and behold, it was very good (Genesis 1:31).
Today’s Thought: When God creates the heavens and the earth, he established order and designed systems to govern how everything would work together. Likewise, in business we establish orderly systems by developing policies and procedures.
Corporate policies provide a framework for making consistent decisions. Essentially, they specify what we “always do” or “never do” in the conduct of our business. Although designed to be firm, business policies must also be balanced with common sense and propriety when applied to specific situations.
When God completed his work, he was pleased with what he had done. Can you say the same about your company policies? Are they good and fair for everyone? Don’t write policies that unnecessarily infringe upon the interests of the three most important groups in your business; your customers, your employees, and the company.
Do not contend with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm (Proverbs 3:30).
Business policies must be balanced with common sense and propriety when applied to specific situations.
