Do you carefully fit individuals to their jobs?

Scripture: Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let each exercise them accordingly (Romans 12:6).

Today’s Thought: Job satisfaction and effectiveness begin with a good match between the specific tasks and duties of a job and a person’s natural aptitudes, interests, and abilities. Therefore, when you need to fill a position in your company, start by developing a complete and well-conceived job description. Describe not only the duties of the job but also the work environment and kinds of interaction the employee will have on a regular basis.

Next, identify the basic skills and competencies needed to be successful in the job, as well as attributes that would identify a superior candidate for the position. With this key information at hand, you will be able to interview more effectively, focusing on the specific job requirements. Then carefully match the right individual with the job, just as you would choose the proper tool for a task.

If you spend the necessary time and effort to define each position and then hire the best matched person you can find, your business will run like a well-oiled machine.

It is not good for a person to be without knowledge, and he who makes haste with his feet errs (Proverbs 19:2).

Hire the best matched person you can find, and your business will run like a well-oiled machine.
