Scripture: The hand of the diligent will rule, but the slack hand will be put to forced labor (Proverbs 12:24).
Today’s Thought: Many workers wish for a promotion, but the one who is willing to earn it usually comes out on top.
Identify a position to which you would like to be promoted. Make your interest known to your boss and ask what criteria will be used for selection. Then buckle down and work diligently toward accomplishing your purpose.
Don’t neglect your present duties. Faithfully carry out the responsibilities of your current position while preparing yourself for the next step. Ask you boss to suggest areas for improvement and respond quickly to shore up areas of weakness. Pursue additional training or enroll in classes that will help you to be better prepared. Any advancement will come with some price, so determine the cost and commit to the work needed to achieve that next step.
As you demonstrate diligence and effective performance, your boss will consider you for promotion and entrust you with additional authority.
Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, but the hand of the diligent makes rich (Proverbs 10:4).
