Scripture: Through presumption comes nothing but strife, but with those who receive counsel is wisdom (Proverbs 13:10).
Today’s Thought: Sometimes we assume that our employees know exactly what we want accomplished and how we want it done, and we become frustrated if they don’t produce the results we expect. However, what may be obvious to us is often unclear to others, especially if they lack our level of business experience.
Take the responsibility upon yourself to communicate your expectations clearly and completely. Outline tasks thoroughly, establish reasonable deadliness, and make sure that person to whom the task is assigned has the necessary skills and experience to do the job. Write out instructions for more complicated tasks, and ask for feedback to ensure that everything is understood.
In following these guidelines not only will you experience less conflict, your staff will make fewer mistakes.
Turn to my reproof, behold, I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you (Proverbs 1:23).
