Scripture: I go to prepare a place for you (John 14:2).
Today’s Thought: We know that when we get to heaven, the Lord will be completely prepared for our arrival. W e would do well to apply the same principle when preparing to hire a new employee.
Don’t wait until the new hire shows up on your doorstep before you put together an orientation plan. Before the employee’s first day, make sure that a workspace is prepared, a desk is designed, the phone is working and supplies are in place.
Establish an orientation checklist and cover each important item on the first day.
Introduce the newcomer to coworkers and key managers, tour the facility, outline the job
responsibility and explain how the work supports the overall results of the organization.
Give the new person time to absorb everything, but don’t leave him or het sitting around for long periods with nothing to do.
Cover all the bases on the first day. Your new employee will feel welcome and will hit the ground running.
To receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice and equity . . . (Proverbs 1)
:3).
Don’t wait until the new hire shows up on your doorstep before you put together an orientation plan.
