Scripture: So Joshua ordered the officers of the people: “Go through the camp and tell the people, ‘Get your supplies ready. Three days from now you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land’” (Joshua 1:10-11 NIV).
Today’s Thought: When the time came to cross into the Promised Land, Joshua delegated responsibility for mobilizing the people to his commanders. In two short sentences he clearly told them what to do, by when, and what the goal was.
Use the same model with your staff. When business initiatives come along that require action, call your key leaders together, clearly state the objective, outline what is expected from each staff member, and set a timetable for meeting the goal. Gain agreement and get to work.
When the purpose is clear and duties have been delegated, it takes only a few words of direction to initiate action. Then watch as your key goals are reached.
Listen, for I shall noble things; and the opening of my lips will produce right things (Proverbs 8:6).

When the purpose is clear and duties have been delegated, it takes only a few words of direction to initiate action.
