Scripture: You shall rise up before the gray headed, and honor the aged (Leviticus 19:32).
Today’s Thought: In the fast-paced world of Internet access, dot.com millionaires, and high-stakes global competition, young hotshot owners and managers may think they have all the answers, and that older workers are irrelevant.
However, even though rapidly emerging technologies may pose a challenge to even the most energetic business veteran, the lessons they’ve learned over time can give invaluable help and perspective to their younger colleagues.
As I came up through the ranks in business, there were times I didn’t listen to the voice of experience, and I paid a big price. There were also times I managed to avoid some major elephant traps when I did heed some sage advice.
No matter how “cutting edge” your business might be, you’re wise if you seek out experienced counsel and listen to it. You will profit from others’ experience instead of paying the same price yourself.
The glory of young men is their strength, and the honor of old men is their gray hair (Proverbs 20:29).
No matter how “cutting edge” your business might be, you’re wise if you seek put experienced counsel and listen to it.
