Scripture: But refuse foolish and ignorant speculations, knowing that they produce quarrels (2 Timothy 2:23).
Today’s Thought: Some people spend countless hours and untold energy debating business issues without the benefit of knowing all the facts. The result is confusion, wasted effort, and fruitless argument based solely on conjecture and opinion.
A wise manager will gather all the facts before making business decisions. Research takes time and attention, but it results in more efficient meetings and conversations. If during a meeting, more information is needed to reach the best conclusion, adjourn the meeting for a few minutes or a few days, depending on the missing links. Then reconvene with the facts and make those decisions.
If you base your discussions on good information and work together to arrive at solutions, your energy, and that of your colleagues, will ultimately be focused on creating business success.
The lips of the wise spread knowledge, but the hearts of fools are not so (Proverbs 15:7).
A wise manager will gather all the facts before making business decisions.
