Scripture: Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, “Leave us alone that we may serve the Egyptians”? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness (Exodus 14:12).
Today’s Thought: Launching new ventures requires a bold commitment to press on, even when the going gets rough. If you don’t stay focused on your purpose, your perspective may become warped. Like the Israelites, who looked back with longing at their slavery in Egypt, you might begin to think things were better in the past. But while you are looking backward, you may miss potential blessings on the road ahead.
Often, when making a major change in business direction, morale will drop before the improvement is understood and felt by each team member. Recognize that those times will come and be prepared to lead.
Confront your fears, and refuse to settle for the old comfort zone. The challenge you don’t want to face is the one to tackle first. Start there, then move on. You will be uncomfortable at first, but as you press on your confidence and success will follow.
The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion (Proverbs 28:1).
The challenge you don’t want to face is the one to tackle first.
