Do you think your memory is so good that you don’t need to write things down?

Scripture: “All this,” said David, “the LORD made me understand in writing by His hand upon me, all the details of this pattern” (1 Chronicles 28:19).

Today’s Thought: No matter how good your memory might be, nobody can remember everything. If you fail to write down important facts or assignments, you are destined to drop the ball sometimes and fail to follow through. Creating a “paper trail” helps you keep your bearings and focus your priorities.

Make a habit of taking notes during company meetings and insist that your staff develop the same practice. Emphasize key points, and remind others to write them down. Write down instructions from your boss and give written feedback and suggestions as well.

When a customer expresses a need or makes a request, write it down, along with ideas or instructions for what needs to be done. That way, if you’re out of the office or on vacation, coworkers can pick up the slack and serve your customer more efficiently.

Putting things in writing helps everyone communicate better. Developing this important habit will result in happier customers and greater efficiency for your business.

Do not let kindness and truth leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart (Proverbs 3:3).

Putting things in writing helps everyone communicate better.
