Have you ever been afraid to provide moral leadership in your business?

Scripture: And Aaron said, “Do not let the anger of my lord burn; you know the people yourself, that they are prone to evil” (Exodus 32:22).

Today’s Thought: When Aaron failed to keep the Israelites from sin and they built the golden calf at the foot of Mt. Sinai, the results were catastrophic. As a consequence of Aaron’s lack of moral leadership, three thousand Israelites were killed.

In business, the effects of immorality may not be life or death, but they are nevertheless negative. Compromising the truth may cost you a valued customer; lying on an expense report may cost someone his job; sexual harassment may result in legal action; and failure to comply with safety regulations or equal employment laws can result in fines and sanctions.

In today’s workplace, our principles will be challenged by colleagues who cut corners, makes inappropriate comments and compromises, or engage in unethical behavior. Our standards must be clear and our behavior consistent.

Most problems in business start small, then mushroom. If you nip potential problems in the bud, establish clear standards of propriety, and stop all wrongdoing in its tracks, your business will remain on solid ground.

A righteous man hates falsehood, but a wicked man acts disgustingly and shamefully (Proverbs 13:5).

Stop all wrongdoing in its tracks and your business will remain on solid ground.
