If we fail to fully comprehend our boss’s expectation and directions – or if we’re afraid or too proud to ask for clarification – we set ourselves up to fail. Asking questions doesn’t make you look bad, but failing to properly complete an assignment will.
Follow these simple steps to make sure you’ve got the whole pictures: (1) Listen carefully to your manager’s instructions, (2) repeat back your understanding of the requirements, and (3) clarify any points that are not clear.
Getting the facts straight from the beginning will prevent a costly error down the road and enhance your business career.
