Have you ever rushed to judgement and made a poor business decision?

Scripture: He who gives an answer before he hears, it is folly and shame to him (Proverbs 18:13).

Today’s Thought: Often, as managers, we listen to only part of the story before we’re ready to jump to conclusions. Once we’ve heard enough to reinforce our perception of the situation, we’re ready for decisive action. The Bible calls such hastiness folly. The wise manager, on the other hand, hears all sides before passing judgement.

Take time to listen to all viewpoints before making important business decisions. Don’t squelch employee initiative and creativity – and risk missing the best ideas and input – by being too quick to speak or act.

In hearing and considering everyone’s perspective, not only will you have shown faith in the members of your team, you will also be able to make a more complete, informed decision for your business.

Do you see a man who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him (Proverbs 29:20)

The wise manager hears all sides before passing judgement.
