Scripture: Bear one another’s burdens, and thus fulfil the law of Christ (Galatians 6:2).
Today’s Thought: We demonstrate the servant heart of Jesus when we lend a hand to coworkers who need assistance. Obviously we’re not to take over their jobs or allow them to shirk their responsibilities through laziness, but it’s appropriate to share the load and bear one another’s burdens, especially when it benefits your customers or advances the mission of the organization. A true team player never says, “That’s not my job.”
To give us an example of how to live, Jesus was willing to get his hands dirty, humbling himself to do the work of a servant by washing the disciples’ feet. As you focus on helping your coworkers, be willing to stoop down and do what’s necessary.
Managers, help out employees by restocking shelves or returning phone calls. Employees, be willing to cross-train in other areas to make yourself more versatile. By developing an attitude of service, you can help the entire organization win.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it (Proverbs 3:27)
By developing an attitude of service, you can help the entire organization win.
