Is your staff focused on key business issues?

Scripture: Where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained (Proverbs 29:18).

Today’s Thought: As managers, we see the big picture, we understand the key issues facing our business or department, and we want our staff to comply with our directions. But unless we communicate effectively with our employees, they may not be focused on what’s really important.

Make sure you have clearly outlined the vision for your business or department. Don’t assume that everyone already knows and understands. Clarify your goals and explain how you will measure success. Help team members see how their jobs fit into the big picture, and then affirm and validate their importance and their performance at every opportunity.

Your words and actions should support and reinforce the vision. Lead by example and demonstrate how excellent work helps the entire organization.

When mistakes are made, explain how the problems affect the overall goals of the business and then collaborate with your team to establish corrective measures. When a business has a clear vision and goals, everyone can work together for better productivity.

Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established (Proverbs 16:3)

When a business has a clear vision and goals, everyone can work together for better productivity.
