Scripture: A man of great anger shall bear the penalty, for if you rescue him, you will only have to do it again (Proverbs 19:19).
Today’s Thought: Don’t tolerate uncontrolled outbursts in the interest of “keeping the peace”. If a staff member explodes in anger, allow him or her to bear the consequences.
Calmly convey that temper tantrums are unacceptable and insist on respectful communication at all times to you, peers, and customers. If the situation requires an apology, ask for one.
Allow the offender to feel uncomfortable and ashamed. If the behavior is repeated, make it clear that any further incidents will generate significant consequences. State clearly what those consequences will be. Refuse to let an angry person off the hook and in time he or she will learn to exhibit more self-control – and you will have created a better business atmosphere.
Keeping away from strife is an honor for a man, but any fool will quarrel (Proverbs 20:3).
Don’t tolerate uncontrolled outbursts in the interest of “Keeping the peace.”
