Scripture: Be subject to one another (Ephesians 5:21).
Today’s Thought: You don’t have to be a manager to coach and encourage other employees. If you see a coworker being sharp with a customer, failing to follow through, or otherwise falling short, you have a responsibility to the company and the other person to speak up.
We’re always to come in a spirit of humility, but that doesn’t mean we keep silent. Pick your time carefully, speak to the person alone, and make sure that your comments are kind and constructive.
Simply state what you observed and suggest alternative ways in which the situation could have been handled. Offer your help and invite constructive input from the other person as well. If your counsel is accepted, you will have contributed to your coworker’s improvement and to the benefit of the company. If the response is negative or hostile, simply back off and don’t be contentious.
Help your colleagues to improve and the whole company will be strengthened.
He is on the path of life who heeds instruction, but he who forsakes reproof goes astray (Proverbs 10:17).
You don’t have to be a manager to coach and encourage other employees.
