Scripture: Charge Joshua and encourage him and strengthen him; for he shall go across at the head of this people (Deuteronomy 3:28).
Today’s Thought: When naming new managers, it is important to charge them with clear responsibilities and invest them with the necessary authority to do the job well.
Outline your expectations, and establish clear, objective, and measurable goals. Discuss the personal conduct attendant to the job, especially if the person is being promoted from among the ranks, and clarify any other key factors. Then communicate your support of the manager to his or her staff and subordinates.
Once you have developed objective responsibilities and established clear lines of authority, you will have a firm foundation for holding the new supervisor accountable, and your manager will be primed for success.
By wise guidance you will wage war, and in abundance of counselors there is victory (Proverbs 24:6).
Charger new managers with clear responsibilities and invest them with the necessary authority to do the job well.
